* INTERIM "TRY BOWLS" MEMBERSHIP - for period from 1 March to 30 June
In order for prospective members to play competition bowls on club greens it is necessary for them to be registered with either the Royal Victorian Bowls Association (RVBA) or the Victorian Ladies’ Bowling Association (VLBA).
A pro-rata subscription rate is available for each of the above Associations and currently the most favourable is RVBA which covers four months from 1 March to 30 June whereas the VLBA only covers from 1 March to 31 May and then requires a re-affiliation fee for one year.
In the case of the RVBA this cost is $19 for Adults & $12.90 for Juniors.
In order to gain access to the club, members require a Door Access Card at a once up fee of $10.
Accordingly, for the cost of $30.00 the club is able to offer interim “Try Bowls” membership up to the end of June which entitles members in this classification to participate in any Social or RVBA games at the club or at other clubs.
Once the initial period finishes then a “First Year Bowler” membership can be taken up from 1 July.
Then in the following year “Full Membership” would need to be taken up.
A Membership Application Form is required to be completed, signed and lodged with the club.
Green fees are currently $5.00 (as shown above) each time you play in an event at our club. No green fees are payable for practice. You can practice on most weekday afternoons following completion of bowling events.
It is normal practice for new bowlers to be passed by the club coach(es) before taking part in competition games but this normally only takes a week or two to fulfil this requirement, to ensure that you are delivering the bowl properly without damage to the green(s).
