• Night Pennant started again on Tuesday, 11 November 2008 with our first game for the season a bye.
  Next Tuesday, 18 November we play away, against Ashburton BC on their green.
  This Tuesday (11th) we will have a practice evening amongst ourselves starting at 7.00pm until dark.
  Those bowlers who put their names down to play Night Pennant should turn up for this practice.
  Teams for 18 November will be picked on Wednesday 12 November. Please check the Notice Board.

• The bowlers who turned up for the Melbourne Cup Day Fancy Dress Mixed Fours on Tuesday, 4 November 2008 had a great day on the green followed by chicken & champagne after viewing the running of the big race.
  Cards were fanned for winners & runners-up:
  Runners-up: B McFee (L), F Murfet (2nd), J Adams (3rd), N Johnson (S)
  Winners: G Evans (L), L Finck (2nd), E Richards (3rd), S Reid (S).
  Best Dressed: B McFee, Next Best: Joan Monds.

• The 2008 Try Bowls Day on Sunday, 25 October saw a good turn up of visitors interested in trying bowls and they were ably assisted by around 25 of our members who helped out on the green during the day.
  Hans & John did a good job on the BBQ with the sausage sizzle and our ladies - Jeannie, Sue, Bev, Cheryl & Pat helped out by serving sausages & salads while our barman Peter was kept on his toes, mostly with soft drinks.
  Thanks to everyone for your help on the day which turned out to be very successful with Membership Secretary Mary busy on the computer inputting nine new names with another 5/6 prospective members taking forms home to decide whether they will also join.
  And above all, welcome to our new members.
